In 1941, the original
Tri-County Lumber was formed by Carl Trovall and Margaret
Blakely in Clearwater, MN. In 1955, Jack Trovall (Carl's son)
became a partner in the company. Brad Hartkopf was hired by
Tri-County Lumber in 1973. Upon Margaret's retirement in 1978,
the original Tri-County Lumber was sold, and closed in 1985.
In 1984 Jack and Brad co-founded a lumber company in another
community. Jack retired in 1995. In 1998, Brad sold his share
in the company.
In 2001, sixty years
after it's beginning, Tri-County Lumber was re-established in Clearwater by
Jack Trovall and Brad Hartkopf, along with their sons Deron
Trovall, and Jason Hartkopf.
The new Tri-County
Lumber has over 100 years of combined lumber experience
between the four partners. Jack's experience began in 1955,
Brad has 29 years of experience in the lumber industry, Deron has

years of experience in the lumber industry, and Jason comes to
Tri-County with a degree in architectural drafting and
estimating from Dunwoody Institute. |
